I remember the first time we flew into Ireland’s Shannon Airport. Matt had his nose plastered against the window of the plane and gasped. “Look how green it is.” When I looked out that window, a blanket of emerald, Kelly, and aquamarine stunned me. Sure, I’d lived in the Adirondacks and Appalachians, but this was […]

Irish Eyes Are Smiling
And Irish hands are functioning much better after two carpal tunnel surgeries! Not 100% yet, but getting there. I’m back to writing and editing Lace Curtain, the second book in my Daughters of Ireland Trilogy and am liking what I see. This is the story of Nellie Kelly, Mary Boland’s daughter, growing up in Boston […]
St. Patrick’s Day Interview
I am sitting here recovering from carpal tunnel surgery on both hands. April, 2016, has been pretty much a write-off for me, thanks to two surgeries. Ha, I made a funny. Write-off! As in, my writing tools were shut off. Whine!! If you’ve missed me, I invite you to listen over the next few days to a […]
A Little Bit of Heaven
It’s Spring! The summer solstice was last week, so now the time of darkness equals the time of daylight in our world. Strangely enough, I like the dark. Think it’s the Irish in me. Although once in Ireland in the height of the summer, it was light until at least 10:30 p.m. Very disconcerting to […]
ALL PRAISE TO ST. PATRICK
It’s a song I remember from earliest childhood: All praise to St. Patrick who brought to our mountains the gift of God’s faith, the sweet light of his love. All praise to the shepherd who showed us the fountains that rise in the heart of the savior above. For thousands of years, in smiles and […]

Finally had an MRI on my neck which revealed cervical stenosis, so all the docs and I thought that was the problem. However, a nerve conduction test (not recommended unless you like […]

Irish Skies and Beauties
The sky is blue…the sun is shining…the wind is calm…and the snow is two feet deep. I moved here from Albany, NY, where snow was a constant in the winter. Except this year and last year and most years since I relocated. Maybe it’s me? In researching Shanty Gold, I learned that snow in Ireland is […]
