Irish Eyes Are Smiling!

Have you read something lately that made you so happy you couldn’t stop smiling? Well, I have and I want to share it with you. I’m not doing this to brag–well, yes I am, a little–but also
to remind all my readers that when someone touches your heart, let them know about it. This guy made my day with his sweet letter.

Dear Jeanne:

September 8th my fiancee Candy and her friend Buffy had the pleasure of meeting you at the Hendersonville Library and you were kind enough to sign your book Shanty Gold for them. Actually you signed it to both of them which I thought was very sweet of you.

Well Buffy read the book first then gave it to Candy to read. Well Candy read the book and couldn’t stop raving about how wonderful it was. Now to know Candy is to love Candy and God knows I do. But sometimes [and I say this with nothing but love in my heart] she can over embellish something if she really really likes it. And she just couldn’t stop ‘gushing’ about your book. I mean major Gush .

Well what could I do. I had to read the book or I would never hear the end of it. So I start the book on Saturday the 24th. and just finished it today, the 27th. Jeanne I must say it was one of the most entertaining, well written and interesting books I have read in a long, long time. Your writing is such a joy. Now just so you know I am not the fastest reader this side of the Brooklyn Bridge but the way you have your chapters, short and riveting, I just couldn’t stop reading. I feel with short chapters [as you have] makes it so much easier for someone like myself to feel that they are accomplishing so much more in their reading and make you want to keep on going. Which is exactly what it did do for me.

I totally enjoyed the book cover to cover. I was totally immersed in the story and felt I was right there with Mary, Kam, Kathleen and all the rest of the characters. You are a wonderful author and I can not remember the last time I enjoyed a book as much as I enjoyed this one.

In closing I just want to say that I look forward to reading more of your treasures and hopefully will, in the future be able to meet you in person, as Candy did. We live in Hendersonville and with you in Asheville, I hope you’ll be making another appearance soon in the area. So again Thank You for enriching our lives with your wonderful words and stories………………………..Warmly, Tommy Loreto

Letters like this make all the hard work worthwhile, and this one motivated me to finish up Lace Curtain. Thank you, Brooklyn Tommy.A Day of Angels
